You won't have a choice of where you go after training. They send you where the freight needs to go. They could care less of you like it or not.

Well sir..as I understand it there are different fleets...Western, SouthWest, SouthEast...etc. There are dedicated routes and regional routes out of each fleet. There is also National...as well as intermodal....so...again...as I understand it, there are a number of options. I'll keep everyone posted as to what I find out for sure though.

I drove for these guys, you'll find out. All I can say is get use to I80. By the time you qualify for a more local job you won't even be with them anymore. And don't fall for their lease program it's a scam. Go company driver, only way you'll make any money. If you don't believe me just read the boards.Having said that you can make money with them but be prepared to stay out six weeks at a time. Forced loads, you can't turn them down. Don't want to burst your bubble, but I know these guys well.

While I was in training at SLC I had 2 roommates come through for upgrade...both were at just over 160 hours. IF I have to go the full 180...so be it, it ain't that bad.
I hadn't planned on leasing...didn't seem real smart for a new driver, especially concerning all the stories.
I never mentioned turning a load down...just choosing my own fleet.
How long did you drive with them?

I drove for them for almost 3yrs. I'm not one to talk bad about them. They gave me all the miles I could handle and always paid me what I was owed. The reason I said you won't be there is if you last eight months to a year better jobs will open up for you.Best advice I can give you is never never pick up late or deliver late. Stay on time and you will get the long loads that make the most money.

    Ooops Thanks this.

Sometimes, lol. It's hard (for me anyway) to put your life in someone's hands you don't know very well. Then...bumpy roads are another thing...but, you get tired enough that none of it matters. I think also, the fact that I was in the Army, 1st Bn 75th Ranger Regiment helped, I learned to sleep anywhere I had the chance.

    Ooops Thanks this.

Yeah those paychecks are going to be horrible. Lasted three months with CR England, my paychecks were always about 350 after taxes. $0.28 split and if you run solo you'll be getting $0.25 cpm.

those jobs for dedicated and Regional routes that they offer you once you have accumulated enough driving time with the company.. good luck trying to get one..
But I will say this, you have 6 month contract for being prior service ? finish your contract with England. You'll be making anything from $0.40cpm and up with another company.
I was netting with Knight Transportation anywhere between 700 to 900 a week.

Yeah...I think the way to go for my required time will be Phase 2 Lead, Advanced Lead and then trainer...that's your best bet at making any money.
