"Regional team" operation???? Alarm bells should be going off. Unless it's all dedicated and/or drop/hook at 24/7 facilities, I'd be very concerned. What if a typical week is only 4,000 miles? Is that enough to keep you satisfied?

 

This seems to be a new scam, cooked up by the companies who are training indentured servants instead of drivers.

Why would you borrow money from a company before you work for them? Shouldn’t they be paying you to come work for them, not vice versa? Once you are indebted they can do whatever they want (within reason, obviously) but they basically own you. You will be forced to pay their bills and default on your own.

If you don’t have the credit or the money to pay for school, perhaps the wisest choice is SAVE MONEY FOR SCHOOL - not borrow from any sketch pad drop kicks who will lend and advance you money when every other regulated, reputable lending institution turns you away.

I’d borrow money from a loan shark before I would indenture myself to a company. I realize it’s too late for the OP, but for anyone considering this route: be aware of what you are agreeing to. They have no liability, and you have all the risk in this arrangement.

I went to CRE school 12 years ago, but I paid cash up front. $1600. Did 4 months and went to JB Hunt. I did make really good money, but I ran team loads as a solo lease op. I was only 40 then, and it was just too much wheel time. Banked a bunch of cash and turned in the truck.

Was an excellent classroom though. Some totally hot CRE BABES too. Definitely one of the weirder experiences of my life.
