with Crete, preventable is preventable. I went into a tight driveway at a small customer almost 2 years ago...there was an underground waterline that followed the edge of the driveway and wasn't visible...that I had to just edge over in order to get a 70' truck into and miss smacking the fence with the nose of the trailer or taking out the key-card gate opener...the water line cracked, and started leaking. The owner said he was behind me honking his horn warning me...like I can hear it...Long and short...Preventable - fixed object. Was going to try to fight it...but guess where I was run for 90 days...anywhere but Lincoln.

Sorry I've be MIA again. This smartphone lasted a week...HTC...NEVER EVER BUY HTC PRODUCTS. I think the people who design and manufacture HTC phones also work for International...
After Easter I ran hard. Left home on Monday at 1030, buy Friday afternoon I had run 2650 miles(that's 2650 miles in 4.5 days). Including a load from Corey. It was Thursday, and load from north of Philly to Ames IA for a weekend run. Before I could accept it...a message from Corey saying 'Pickup the load, and message us, we will have T'call set up for it by tomorrow evening'. I managed to make it to Ottawa by Friday afternoon. That was the emptiest that place has been since I've been here. Now I was pushed on my 70 a bit for the weekend. I had 17 hours...for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. So I asked for a productive load that I could do a reset on. They gave me 1/2 of my request...A 250 mile load to Grand Rapids out of Romeoville for Monday. 250 miles for the weekend, and a reset. Which put me 250 miles ahead of where I was the weekend before, so I didn't get too testy, until I started getting nothing but crappy loads the rest of the week. End result, 2004 miles for last week. I haven't had a month over 10000 miles since November...and I am not happy. I had originally told my new AM that I would be out until the end of the month, but since they can't get me 1754 miles in 5 days with a full 70, I said send me home and have me there by my 21st day. Plus this Cornfield Caddy had developed a Bipolar disorder. One time you start it, it runs like a freight train, the next time it won't get out of it's own way. I want to stop at Lowes and buy a 50lb bag of play sand, and dump it in the oil fill, then start it and hold the throttle wide open until the engine blows through the hood....JUNK! I hope these trucks bankrupt International and they fold...Jose and Julio will be out of work, but hey, they can always jump the fence and come work up here in the US.
Ralph4159 Thanks this. -
S/S I know Ottawa has been shut down, but are we still able to park there? I was thinking about taking vacaction in that area and was hoping I could park there for a week.

I don't know what happened, but this month has been a total nightmare for me. It's weird how when you are waiting at various places for days at a time, it is much more exhausting than good miles. I've felt totally burned out and gone into extreme ultra rages which I know are causing major physical damage.
So far in April, I've already had 2 unnecessary 34 resets and one 72 hour reset! I finally got a decent trip that delivered at 0530 today, Sunday in Mississippi. I was stoked that I was able to drive all Friday and Saturday and thought I would finally break the curse.
But no! It was pouring rain and when I did my pre-trip at 0430, I stepped in a 8" deep river. The consignee was one of those places that make you park, check in, finally go to dock, slide tandems, and unhook while they unload. By the time I was empty, I was soaked to the bone. Then dispatch offers me a 350 mile run to Atlanta that picks up Mon and delivers Tue. I begged them for something else, but still only got a load that doesn't pick up until tomorrow at 3pm. So today, I worked around 3.5 hours for absolutely free and not a dime for the next 30 hours.Last edited: Apr 14, 2013
