I am certainly happy here. Am I happy every second of every day with them? NO...but overall, yes, it is a decent enough company to work for, regardless of what is said. No company is perfect, and Crete certainly is not. As far as I am concerned they are better than at least 90% of the others out there. I have been here more than 12 years, so, yes, I know what it was like before, and it has changed...but I still have my opinion. I have been treated well, and I get 10K+ miles every month (except maybe December when I take 1/3 of the month off....).

Lone Ranger 13 and Wild Murphy Thank this.

I do believe it, because 65 vs 62mph is about as big a difference in fuel economy as it is in crash physics. And insurance companies tend to be ridiculous. As for driver training, I suspect the money they bring in on the tax credits/subsidies they get for it outweighs the extra money they pay to the insurance company. In any event, I suspect the 62mph governors are to offset that last bit.

I seen a couple Cretens with those moon-pie hub caps on their tractors. I guess they figured the fuel savings was worth the cost. Now they're up there with Schneider and Mesilla Valley!

I would believe that last part too if Crete wasn't privately insured....They don't have the little British lizard or Flo writing insurance claim checks.... The only contact they have with an insurance company is the underwriter company that processes the claims. When it comes to paying for damages, Crete...like most major carriers...gets out their corporate checkbook unless it's a catastrophic claim like that wreck in FL that killed that car load of kids.

It may be part of a package deal from Freighiner. I've seen more and more new Cascadia's with those, not just Crete's...maybe it's something new to get ahead of some future Cali regulation that is taking effect soon. Since we don't go there, I haven't kept up with all the Cali-craziness.

If they're not on a lease road I don't get to see other drivers 'cept at the FlyingJ..haha(which is where I saw these two trucks). They were new trucks so you're probably correct.

On a side note I will finally be upgraded from my 2008 FL to a year old T680 auto. It will be like going from a Pinto to an Escalade!

Lucky you...except for the "auto" part I mean. Glad to see that this oil price crash hasn't hit your neck of the woods...

You should post more then, a lot if us here just don't care, and there's no rule that ex cretins can't post here. I follow the Poly thread, I hope that's not wrong, I even glance at most the threads where Xidraw worked. Wait, THAT's why I use so many gigs!!!!!

After jumping through hoops to get my cab card. I got a message that I have to stop by a terminal and get a new terminal directory. Sigh,

    Brandson Thanks this.
