I like the extra cash at the end of the year.

With the increase in standard deduction..from $12,000 to $24,000 next year..for married couples...or from $6,000 to $12,000 for singles...kind of makes up....for the loss of per diem deduction

Deadwood Thanks this. -
Also having to pay .01 per mile...Forever taken out.....just to have per diem on weekly pay....pissed me off ....Crete couldn't cover that .01 charge..per diem is a great bargain for Crete...since they now have to contribute less..in matching federal taxes..to the per diem drivers federal tax bill

tucker Thanks this. -
And what is with the .01 per mile charge anyway...once the accounting company programs it in...it will be done from then on automatically...never heard of other companies...charging drivers an ongoing fee..to have per diem on their pay

It’s called an administration fee and some companies charge up to $.03 cpm for it. A penny a week is $25 dollars based on 2500 miles.
Who in their right ‘effin mind would give that kind of money away? Shows exactly what a company thinks of their employees if they resort to that kind of nonsense.Frank Speak, Astoh and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
