Alright guys/girls.... update time:
First two days were stressful due to understanding the can can messages. I’ve always worked for the small guys. So.... I actually like it here. Nothing to really complain about. I think I mastered the Crete way. It’s pretty easy if you don’t let it get the best of you. Of course the 65mph makes me feel like I’m in a turtle race but I’m getting over that. Swift almost passed me!!!
Now, for the facts:
Lots of 500/600 mile runs my first week which just ended. I didn’t mind those runs. All were live load n live unload but I’m very experienced (16 years) so in/out of docks was easy for me.
Total for the week:
2792 miles, and I’m on my 34 WITH 601 banked already for next week. My dispatcher thanked me twice which I didn’t understand. I’m just getting from point A to Point B and keeping that left door shut.
@ Crete and will post on a weekly basis.
Stay safe out there!dwells40, O.Henry and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
They’ve seem to have got me mixed up with a NE regional driver.

1 week is fine (on Regional) BUT I will speak my peace IF it goes into 2 weeks. I also write down every trip number, to and from state/town/miles. So.... IF and it will happen I will have exact info explaining the situation needs to change.

Hey,it’s not funny!

And here are the words they will tell you..."that's all we have" or "you're the only driver available with the hours to deliver on time"...and those will be followed by "we'll get you something better once you're empty"...why do you think they built such a big fancy new terminal in New Kingstown...so they have parking for all the National drivers doing the northeast spin cycle. In orientation, they use to show you a night time satellite picture of the US and say, "see where all the lights are, that's where we do most of our business" and the east coast, especially the northeast, was all lit up.Last edited: Aug 26, 2018
tucker Thanks this. -
I’m from CT/MA... if that does happen “repeatedly” I can scoot on home and make 28.00 an hour plus OT and be home daily. We will see.... and I also made that a point to ALL when I decided to come on board.
Hope it doesn’t happen tho. -
I also have ALL endorsements and trained in everything which makes me very marketable in the Northeast. 28.00 would be rock bottom starting hourly rate. We have billboards stating 28.00 plus OT after 8 AND double time after 12.
