Well unfortunately, you don't get a vote in where you pick up your new truck. Add Lenoir City to your list of places to get screwed. And I know paying for overweight fees is pretty standard, but this was an extenuating circumstance. The Walmart scale showed me 20k underweight. So I called dispatch and asked if maybe I had the wrong trailer. They said no, it's not at all uncommon for Walmart to be off by that much. By the time I'd gone up a couple hills and realized there was no way this was a 25k load, it was too late, next exit was an open weigh station. In Oklahoma, where they never cut you a break. But point being, I used the scale provided, I QUESTIONED the scale provided, with management, and they still stuck me for the tab. No hearing, no discussion, no recourse, just a Peoplenet message advising me I'd be missing $50 of my check for the next 5 weeks. Also, I've figured out my own way to avoid ever being shuffled off to Walmart again - next time they do it I'm just going to decline the load. They send it to you as a dispatch, so you can decline it. Then there will be a conversation of course but my answer is going to be, that's regional work and I signed on as an OTR driver. Period. Anyway, yeah, they suck, they treat their drivers like sources of income. I've been putting out feelers, I'm not long for Crete.Lamborghini Owner Op and Bumper Thank this.

Legacy megas usually aren't bad outside pay and layover.. Crete and Shaffer are on par with PTL and Cargo Transporters in a lot of respects, layover/pay averages are hit and miss depending on DM and home-time across all of them..
If you don't mind regional and OTR road-time you can do a lot worse very easily..Lamborghini Owner Op Thanks this.
