They pay significantly more than that for short dry van loads. Pretty sure loads under 250 miles pay around 1.40 before FSC.

I am an o/o at Crete, but I am on an account that is almost exclusively drop and hook, and almost never see a load less than 600 miles. My rates run from 1.05 to 1.10, but I would have to earn at least 1.25 or so per mile to make up for wasted driving time if I was not on a drop and hook account.

I pull reefer, LOL. Almost 100% drop and hook.
