    my question to you is, why are you still at .51 a mile and been in this game for decades, im about to start a company at .51 cpm with only 6 months of otr experience

    There are variables. How many miles per week. Practical miles? Paid on W-2? How long are the runs? Drop and hook? What works for you may not work for someone else.

    Has pay gotten this bad? Running team in 1993-1996, My vacation pay for per week. Was $1400. per week back then. But we averaged 7000+ per week. Got home Friday night, leave out sat am.
    That was for a local company. They had there own trucks.

    Rates are down. I hope the best but you better have 200K in free cash in the bank.
    Before you do so, take a peak at the stock market. Look at FedEx and all transports. They are saying lower profits for 2019.

    The economy is slowing, and it's also the beginning of the normal slow freight season.

    Honestly, I don't know anyone with $200k in the bank. With interest rates being so low since the great recession, I don't see a reason to hand your money over to a bank who is gonna use it for almost free.
