From what ive read on another thread, yes they do. They have both, but are phasing out the manuals. Now that could have changed because that thread has been going for a few years.

I don’t know about Millis but I’ve talked with Crete drivers and they require you to be out at least 21 days before they let you go home so I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

Long haul drivers are not "anyone".

With over 24 years in the industry, I've done it all, insofar as van, reefer, tanker and flatbed. I've extensive experience in OTR, Regional, Corridor, Dedicated and local. Having said that, OTR is for those just entering the industry (this is where you are baptized, cut your teeth, per say).

If you are a seasoned driver, OTR looks very good to any company hiring in the other areas.

Don't dismiss OTR. It is still lucrative job so long as you understand the job.

I did not go straight owner operator, worked my way up to owner operator ,then became a carrier. started in the middle of the 90's .SO here is some more advise. you do not have to go to super trucker school, you do not have to use the mega's to get your CDL an let them treat you like dirt. There are options, there are drivers an SMALL company's , willing to help you, like ME. i would show someone the ropes if they asked.people can go an get there permit themselves, they can find someone to help them learn how to drive. That's what i did when i was a kid,got the permit, talk to an old O/O an he took me under his wing.then i was able to drive for him, an others,an NO MEGA'S. And DO NOT FALL FOR THE LEASE PURCHASE PROGRAM,we all hear the horror story's about them, I did it too. Here is another tip an trick. if you can not get a JOB WITHOUT A MEGA ,cuz your to new, an insurance will not cover you, find away with an O/O to use an practice your driving with his/or her truck, go do your road test, pass that test. go find or keep your job you had before trucking, AND THEN AFTER ONE YEAR OF HOLDING YOUR CDL GO LOOK FOR A TRUCKING JOB small ma an pa shops, this has worked for a few people i knew. since there CDL was now more then a year old, there doors opened ,AN THEY DID NOT HAVE TO DO A MEGA.SO AGAIN .NONE ,STOP WORKING FOR MEGA'S..P.S not sure if this will work anymore with all the tracking going on now days BUT it worked like 5 years ago. so any who, was not trying to be a douche, but it is what it is,peace,an hope it can help someone.
