Don't take the truck.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I doubt the authorities would even allow an American truck across the border without proper documentation. Plus the fact, they would think you were a complete idiot for even trying to cross.JC1971 and N00bLaLoosh Thank this.

These days. All you need to come back is say: No Comprende Englis’
You’re in.
They’ll even give you a ride home.
Suddenly free health care.
Money too. -
I used to have a friend that lived in Naco Mexico. When I got close to southeastern Arizona I would park my tractor and walk across the border and spend the night with him and his wife. Right now I have to agree with the others, DO NOT drive that rig across the border.

Unfortunately.....you are absolutely correct. What a mess our Government is creating. So much for, "Of the People, By the People, For the People"JoeyJunk, WesternPlains and PacoTaco Thank this.

Is it your truck? There’s no way a US domiciled carrier would allow one of there tractors to enter Mexico. You’re dealing with a whole new world of laws and insurance requirements that are pretty complex for a personal vehicle let alone a commercial vehicle.
I know enough Mexicans that wouldn’t even step foot into northern Mexico if their lives depended on it. Sad but it’s truly a s••t hole down there.JoeyJunk Thanks this. -
In regard to Mexico, they have 2 borders. A national border with the US and a Military border a few miles south of that border. US Citizens as long as you stay north of that Military border you are OK. Just understand that area between the National and Military borders is dangerous right now, it is controlled in large part by the cartels. In fact, I would go as far as stating a virtual war is being fought there.
As @Dna Mach said, those that live south of these borders know the score and stay out of that area! -
My sister went to Los Algodones last week to see a dentist and had to get back in line to cross the border by 1:30 as they have shortened hours.

I should know this, I've live in Yuma, just down the road aways from there. However, I almost never cross the border. When I have, I walked, but that was into Algodones.
A few years back they started the requirement that you need either a passport of passport card to get back across. A passport card is kinda like a passport. You apply for it like a passport, But, it costs alittle less and is a card like a drivers license you can carry in your wallet easily. However, it is NOT a full passport. It works at border crossings from Mexico and I think Canada. But, I don't think it works in other countries or for airline travel.
All that said, I've gone into Algodones a couple times since they started the requirement. Coming back across I got extra scrutiny and fussed at, but was let back in with just alittle extra hassle. It's been a few years, so don't know if it is still like that.Dennixx Thanks this.
