As a former Training Instructor at CRST's NADTA school I wonder why anyone would want to work for this company? Recruiters will tell you anything you want to hear just to get you there...they did it to me too!!
#1...NADTA's Management team is run by 1 Director and 2 Managers; the Director has NO experience in truck driving or managing a school but has worked for CRST for 11 years. The 2 Managers...only one has experience and the other went to Kirkwood to get his license and has NO experience driving OTR.
The Training Center...living here is grim. You will be 3 to a room, beds only...no TV, clock, restroom, closets or cabinets in the room. Bedbugs are an ongoing problem. Restrooms/showers are down the hall and are communal...just like jail! If your staying there be prepared to get sick...everyone does! Breakfast consists of cereal only and lunch is served at NADTA...hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, nasty pizza, chicken patties and sometimes other items. THERE IS NO DINNER OR FOOD SERVED ON WEEKENDS!! A lot of students survive on Ramen noodles because its cheap, filling and they were mislead by their recruiters.
Be informed, ask questions and if you can get it in writing!!
CRST...Really?

Thanks for the input.
Now if we can only get it through these poor fools heads that this is what they'll get for lack of research.
I'm not just a company basher for the fun of it - I meet these drivers from time to time. -
Probably just another disgruntled driver. I'm doing really good at CRST and I'm one of the good drivers that follow the gold rush. I team and make $500.00 a week take home after we share 7,000 miles. My co-driver is an ex-con, but its okay. We sit a lot and stuff, but big money. I've built an immunity to bed bugs, if you can't handle bed bugs you can't be a trucker.

Don't feel special, rookie. That's how it starts out for drivers that don't do their homework. Your first clue should have been the fact you were getting room, board, food, and training with no out of pocket cost. Do you really think they're going to set up trainees in a Hilton when 99% of them won't even be with the company next year? Common sense, dude.
Unless you shelled out major cash up front and paid your own way, you have absolutely nothing to complain about.Stuka Thanks this. -
you're only going to be there for a few weeks, it will be worse with a trainer so suck it up -

Most of the new drivers don't know what questions to ask.Since you worked for crest and know firsthand what they're like, can you please list a few important questions that should be asked?
Stile Thanks this.
