For someone that has absolutely zero exp any speed can be dangerous. There's such a thing as being too nervous on the road. But how are trainers going to know that if tbeyre sleeping. You can bet CRST is going to take full advantage of this exemption. What goes thru FMCSA brain when they allow such. A thing.Among many of theiraws, they defeat the purpose of their number one goal,SAFETY.

They gotta be seriously desperate for drivers if they're letting permit holders drive their trucks-gotta keep them hot loads moving somehow.lol

Considering the many drivers wanted ads and how much they're glamouring them up it sounds like most are real desperate for drivers.

Yeah FMCSA must have an entire different group of people working on HOS, as that's of major importance don't ya know verses this small matter, I bet someone get killed by all this and some lawyer will grab the gamet and run for the money and really rightfully so.

All this did was make legal for CRST what they and a lot of other mega carriers where already doing. Do you really think all these trainers where sitting in the pass. seat while the trainee was going down the road. Plus I look at it like this what is a 90 day of experience trainer really going to do to help a newbie out being in the pass. seat. Just helps them with lawsuits nothing more.

I see your point but not not all trainers are 99 day recent grads and some newbs need that hand holding. What is new guys reaction going to be when he misses his exit? Or misses a turn? Panic. They need that guy or gal to calm them down so they don't do something career endingly stupid. Not everyone is lacking in common sense but some are and that combined with panic behind the wheel of a semi is a recipe for disaster
