Hello Drivers,
I am driving 2014 freightliner cascadia dd15
I used to have the cruise control working, but once I put the windshield wiper on..it beeps and disengage the cruise control..!! I've a fault code eng 2 001 spn00305809.
I took the truck to the dealer for oil change and for diagnostic.
They said I need to open the engine upper half!!!
And since then my cruise control is not engaging at all....I tried the press the break pedal..nothing happens.
On the on guard screen..the demo mode is Off!!
Once I put it ON, it says on guard disabled service vehicle!
Took the truck to couple of good michanics but they couldnt figure out what is the problem
My question to you have anybody had such a problem, could you advise me on brilliant genius michanics
Thank you
Cruise control problem

Well with OnGarbage, I meant OnGuard your cruise is not going to work if the display screen says onguard is disabled. Most of the time to fix it, you have to pull over, get out and clean all around that radar box. Then get back in and turn the switch on, and wait to see if the OnGuard screen turns blue or green. If not, rewipe the radar box again and repeat. Sometimes it takes awhile as well for the OnGuard to reset.
My 15 did the same thing minus the wipers killing the cruise. Is it an old Schneider truck? -
Take it back to where it was serviced. It is a warranty issue.

Some newer trucks auto disengage cruise if you turn on wipers, even to use “wishy washy” mode it goes into “no wipers with cruise control cause you’ll kill us all you wreckless truck driver mode”
flood and WildTiger1990 Thank this. -
On off on then set your cruise as normal works with many trucks.

I have to unplug my radar for a few minutes and plug it back in. Sometimes I have to pull the fuse for a few or sometimes do both. I'll never buy a truck with it again.
frito bandito Thanks this. -
check the wiring behind the bumper-hood going to the onguard. It may have been damaged when you had the hood open to change the wiper.....??
