As far as I know there have been no changes....but keep in mind this is Walmart-things are always changing here lol.
The basics should be the same. Pretrip-speak loudly and touch everything. Road test-3 different road tests city, country, highway. Drive like you normally do and you should be fine. Yes you need to be able to shift a manual even though they are going automatic fleet wide lol. Most CDTs understand if you’re a little rusty but if you are missing gears in the middle of the road or stuff like that they might have an issue with it. Backing course-3 different set ups. First day is a freebie meaning you if you bump a trailer no harm no foul. After that it counts against you especially on the last day with the final “test” or backing challenge. Take your time, get out and look as often as you feel you need to. It’s not counted against you it’s considered smart. I’d rather get out more often then necessary and look than hit a trailer.
Lot of classroom time going over benefits and procedures, it’s a lot but once you get through it you can breathe again haha.
Good luck, keep us posted.Exit310 and truckdriver31 Thank this. -
