I’m the owner of 2016 Cummins ISX 500 with right at 500,000 miles. Just wondering hopping I can keep it going another 200,000 to 250,000 miles before an inframe. Plan on putting on an OPS eco pur for cleaner oil and sampling. Are the cam shafts and fuel pumps still troublesome on the 16’s?
CUMMINS ISX life expectancy?

Look at the Amsoil bypass unit - a lot cheaper, 1 gallon spin on filter, add sampling port to the filter head.
Sampling will give you a clearer picture of where you’re at with the engine now.Another Canadian driver and Cabinover101 Thank this. -
Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering in general if the later ISX were any better than the earlier ones. Seems like all discussions stopped about 2014 on internet searches.Another Canadian driver and blairandgretchen Thank this.

I'm getting ready to turn over 1.5Mon an '08 ISX that was overhauled at 950k. Just had the rocker cover off and the cams show no signs of premature wear (no spalling or scoring)

I have a 2014 ISX with the OPS on it. 686k, Couple thing I recommend,Diesel Force Comprehensive Maintenance System, Then use this every fill up, Max Mileage, It will keep that engine clean. I gained about .4ths with it and my DEF usage is at 250MPG. Also my oil usage went from a gal every 13-15k to 22-24k.I went back to synthetic this last oil change and I'm going to try and go all of next year without changing it. There is no reason you should't be able to get well over a million out of it. Keep the overhead set and might want to look at doing the Crank shaft damper before to long and maybe add a balancer to it.

You are worrying about the truck already. It’s natural but stop it and just drive the thing. It is an epa truck engine so just do your home work if you want some serious life out of it

Where are the testing results from this max mileage stuff? They say lab tested on the website but that's it?
Lots of these fuel additives are snake oil....Doealex, bzinger, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
I dont know if 16 had the fuel pumps that broke apart or if that problem was fixed prior to that year. To be sure You could go to any Cummins shop and they can run the serial # from that engine and let you know... Free of charge...

He has the 2350, The fuel pump and cam issues were on previous model engines. As far as the testing on the Max Millage, me and a couple thousand other O/O are the testing lab. There is nothing else on the market like it. It lowers the burn temp of the fuel so it burns more of the soot and keeps you engine cleaner, that's why my oil usage went down and I get 250 MPG out of my DEF.
