I spoke with a few people who have worked for US Xpress ranging from 4 to 7 years ago and they say that they averaged 2800 to 3300 miles a week, that if you want to run, they'll run you all the way.
I am curious on how the pay works though, they said they never took home less than $1200 a week back then, hell i'll be happy if I could make $850 to $900 a week initially.
What is the starting .cpm? Or is it a percentage? If so, what is the starting percentage?
Thank you for taking your time.

Are you sure you were talking to a former driver or a current recruiter?
Your going to need this baby's services after I show you my check stubs...
Divide those numbers by two if your running solo. If your running teams then that's about right could be little higher depending on how you run.
There is no % pay at USX.
2800+ miles per week? Yeah you were talking to a recruiter!Last edited: May 24, 2017

USX is one of those companies where it is what you make of it. It just depends on what you are willing to do to make money. For ME, Ive got about 18 years total experience, not all of it with USX of course, and I have been a trainer for 8 years, again not all with USX. My checks range from $800 on my home time weeks all the way up to $3000 if the bonuses I make line up and I average between 1600 and 1800. But I also keep my nose clean and get a 5cmp safety bonus that's per mile weekly.
So what are you willing to do?
OH and I don't touch freight. That's what lumpers are for. Ive got better things to spend my 70 on like making money.cuzzin it, Sol-dier, rgc2005 and 1 other person Thank this. -
90 days in. I make 38 cents dry van. My terminal is in the NE region so I get the bump.
Load and unload pay if the shipper / receiver signs your BOL. FYI, if any sort of prepping, cleaning, chocking or unchocking is in the comments submit an expense report. Need tools, prybars or safety equipment call Breakdown to get a preauthorization. Be cool and professional with your Fleet Manager to get max miles and advice on how to get paid. The FMs paycheck is tied to ours so the better you are the more the FMs will run you. Easy peasy....Big Dog 585 and Annonymous Thank this. -
