U.S. Department of Labor numbers show there is no driver shortage.
Guess nobody thought to look there until now. -
Dude, these are definitely good paying runs but nobody would consider these local. If you don’t want to call them OTR then call them regional. The “local” guy is pulling a 32 footer up to the Alaskan Bush Company, not running to the north slope.

Since there really is no driver shortage, as authored by the ATA ( mega carriers ), then why do we need to lower the age to drive a CMV? -
Two words :cheap labor.
Why pay an experienced driver $2 a mile when a new inexperienced teenager can be paid practically peanuts ($.20- $.30 cents a mile). -

Well, here's where the 'safety' part kicks in. You see, not only are they going to be paid peanuts, they also have to team for at least 6 months. That's beauty right there.mjd4277 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
