I've been thinking about applying to davis and would like to know what kind of miles I could look at. Night time driving is nothing new to me or tight loads on time cause the loads I pull now are so hot that I usely have a fire truck behind me. I'm from south carolina off of 95 around the 182 I see a lot of davis trucks on i20 but mostly west of 26 so how would my home time look also

hello country843 I used to work for Davis Express. Your miles for Davis can vary greatly from week to week, it depends on how many
of the Publix stores loads with multi stops you get dispatched on each week. These loads tend to shorten your miles. If you happen to get
more of the chicken loads from all the plants that Davis hauls from your miles will be greater. I usually got between 2200 and 2800 miles per
week. As for home time every one works 7 days on and gets 2 days off. I see you live near Dillon SC, Davis picks up chicken at the
Perdue plant in Dillon, so you could get back home pretty easy. hopes this helps

Don't they do a lot of runs with multiple stops? The only thing I've heard about them that I don't like besides that is that your home time starts as soon as you get off the truck to head home from one of their terminals which you store it, so 48 hours can easily turn into a bit less time at the house. And if you have to stay out for longer than a week, you still don't get more than 48.

I worked for Davis Express. If you like taking your break behind a Publix store with no showers and hopefully a dark bush to crap then hey they are for you. If this is the best job you've had in 17 years then wow. They have about a 96% turnover rate so the numbers will tell you the truth.

I worked for them and would never recommend them to anyone. One little mistake and your fired even when it's not your fault. Stay away

I work for them and that simply isn't true. They don't fire anyone for "one little mistake".

They're pretty laid back for the most part. It is true you'll spend some time camped out at Publix stores. Not alot, but some. And, usually, it's by my choice so I can save my hours. BUT, I have never had an issue getting a shower. There's plenty of time on the loads. I shower when I stop for fuel. It's usually late at night (that's when we do most of our driving) and it's easy in and out. Also, there's usually a good selection of eats around if you don't feel like eating on your truck. And, I get home every 7 days like clock work. I live 20 minutes form the yard so parking the truck at the yard doesn't bother me. If I lived 90 miles away, Davis probably wouldn't work out for me.

Anyway, if you have specific questions, I can answer them for you.
