What cracks me up is if a guy can run the speed limit, then he's a "super trucker"? WTF is up with that? Least the driver who can run the speed limit is not stuck in the middle lane, impeding traffic. Or on a two lane road that's 65 or 70 mph speed limit, backing up traffic for a mile running 60. How is a guy going to get a ticket for running the speed limit? Or end up in the ditch? Or broke down? That's just retarded.

Drivers of all sorts are, as someone said, knuckleheads. I mentioned the Fed Ex drivers because more than once those idiots have almost run me over in a truck stop. Those dudes are idiots. Anyone who hauls #### thru a truck stop or rest area, catching gears, should take his CDL and have it stuffed up his arse. It's like they just give CDLs away outta Cracker Jack boxes anymore.

There's tons of knucklehead drivers out there. Day cabs or sleeper trucks. They reflect society as a whole, IMO. Inconsiderate, rude and don't give a flying &#@* about anyone but themselves.

I kinda have to agree about the Fed Ex guys. I see them every night driving like fools. But really someone driving 70 isn't doing the speed limit in Pennsylvania, fyi. And my truck is governed at 70 so I could speed like everyone else. But why??? So I lose time and money (hourly, remember)? So I can't be lumped in the Fedex or UPS daycabbers. I'm not in that big of a hurry, I don't need to be. We rarely have appointment times, can deliver when we want (if open of course), and don't have more than two runs a day. But still get my 10-12 hours in each day.

But yes, the guy driving the chromed out Pete with 20,000 lights on it driving 70+mph blowing by others, yeah, he's the supertrucker. It is what it is. There are idiots in all kinds of trucks but I believe this thread was started because someone was bashing daycab drivers for some reason. I've driven all kinds of trucks from a 1998 Classic XL to my current brand spanking new 2013 Cascadia daycab and I have driven the same in both, SAFELY.

Pretty much everything everyone has posted in here both sides do it pretty evenly. I've come more to the conclusion that there are few drivers period that are courteous or safety oriented rather than one that drives this or that lacks those things.

Maybe you should take the blinders off of your Eyes! Speeding in work zones by Daycab drivers< Thats funny, No way Billy bob would ever consider speeding in a work zone, thats just for us Local boys. 55 means 55 to me, 45 means 45 to me and 65 means 55 to me! Good luck getting me to exceed the speed limit by trying to shove me down the road. Why would i , i know what time i will get home every day!

Should we take this one at a time, the money, hmmm I made 63,500 last year running 10 to 12 hours a day(whats not to like). Home every night off every week end, again whats not to like.

As far as driving habits, I see every group of drivers having a few with bad habits. There are different requirements on each group of drivers, such as us "Day Cabbers" are against the 14 hour clock to get done and get home vs sleeper trucks have the 70 to worry about. I load and unload twice every day and still have 400 to 550 miles to cover. Where as the OTR drivers generally load and unload weekly.

The deal is we all have a job to get done and neither is easy there just different.

My deal seems to be bottom dump rock trucks as bad drivers, but even there again they have a tough job to do feeding batch plant, etc....

It is always easier to look at the other guy, but Im sure we all piss off someone everyday.

    i run at night, so maybe i am a "night-cab driver"...lol...

i have a dedicated run, 3 stops per night.

actually, i do just above the speed limit that MOST OTHER DRIVERS DO..!! but for construction zones, i do the ACTUAL SPEED LIMIT. we do have our "little area of the road". mostly the middle lane, LIKE MOST OTHER DRIVERS DO.

what galls me, is when i am cruising up the middle lane, and there is an OTR truck in that middle lane, and he does not move over so i can pass him.

as a result, many times, BECAUSE OF HIS IGNORANCE, i must pass that jerk in the right lane.

i personally DO NOT ride up on the bumpers of 4 wheelers, but by golly, I HAVE SEEN OTR GUYS DOING THIS..!!

some "city drivers" may display some of what you say. do not forget, THOSE guys are in the city, someplace where YOU MAY NEVER GO TO, and as a result, they want to "get in and get out, ASAP.

i run into downtown Boston EVERY NIGHT, i need to get in and out quick. if the Red Sox are playing at home, or the Celtics or Bruins, you had BETTER BELIEVE I NEED TO GET IN/OUT ASAP..!!!

Most OTR drivers DO NOT even take my exits however.

i really haven't seen too many (if any) of these types of drivers of late.

    YES........

    where does that leave you..??

i'd say, being able to take a quick 20 minute nap comfortably, rather than "over the wheel", like some of us had to do, or still do sometimes..!!!

Haha...this is one of the more retarded threads I've seen on here. Speaking of construction zones, I'm driving my daycab hauling into and out of them. There are a lot of drivers that scare me...OTR and local...............mainly because they're texting, talking on the phone or just wore out. I've lost track of the number of times I've came close to being wiped out. To top it off, most interstate work here has to be done at night.

ALL you guys are just in too ####### big of a hurry....gots to go, gots to go!! SLOW DOWN....!!!

You're in the same place I am lol. I'm a local driver but have a sleeper because I do go a little further then our daycab drivers and may need to sleep in the truck every once in a while.
