Yes sir but after initial start up and after I hit high side. The high side, typically 9 or 10 gear is when it does it and once it does it, it’s like that in all gears.

image.jpg Does the ECM on a DDEC2, ground through the 4 bolts that hold it to the block?

I don't think they would rely on that since there are the rubber isolators, you would never have a solid ground connection.

I think you are correct. After tightening wit a 13mm, I noticed the rubber grommets.

Did you get another ECM on it for a test?

When they changed the perimeters for speed, did they go through all the settings? One at a time, setting each one to your preference? Sure they did. I have to ask though. A 1800 rpm limit was a common setting on Fleet Trucks, along with top speed, and whatever else they decide. I always had them take off all the limits. Set cruise to work at the lowest speed possible. Tech should go through all the settings one at a time with you seeing the screen too, making each decision. seeing the correct one made. Maybe it’s still set at 1800.

So then why did it just start intermittently doing this? The first 7 years I owned the truck and it would always, give you more rpm’s, unless you were at 70mph. The truck starts, runs, drives really good it’s just got a sensor, bad wire/connection or something in the ECM at fault.

No sir, I was just using this truck to haul my own grain at the time. Just got it parked to the side now that harvest is over and using my other trucks, “for hire”. The mechanic I use just got back in town from deer season and said he’d plug it up, when I bring it down. Figure out what’s going on and he said he could delete the speed limiter, if it’s not “locked out”.

My mistake, I thought you already had the top speed limit settings removed.
