Dedicated Fleets are a scam

I think I knew that but forgot it. My thing is if I'm not complaining about something, I'm not happy lol

 

I believe Swift is only working the 3 grocery DCs doing loads to the stores ... given 3 grocery DCs in FL, you're not going to go very far on a given trip ... Now running frieght to the DCs, that's another matter.

 

The dedicated fleet can be physically from one DC but they service anything Sam's and Wal-Mart related. Basically your in their zone so getting home isn't a problem.

 

it really depends on the fleet and the planner for the fleet. One time I worked for the Wally World out of Moberly. ran gr8, a 34 every weekend, and bringing in take home checks of close to $1800, and this for a L/O. Then the head planner came back, changed the whole routine to what she wanted, and bye, bye. I left. They had another opening working out of the DC in Columbus, and only want O/O, saying that gone for 3 weeks and avg about 2200/week. that was not going to happen. When run correct, a person can make a killing. Years ago a friend of mine was runnig a dedicated paper account in the SE, and he was making a killing and home every weekend.

 

you need to prove you self to the planners fist. i know u want everything right away but it does not work that way.

when u get a planners phone number save it. get a good rep with them do them favers. after a wile you will be on a first name with them call them when you need something. but they will not talk to you now.

dedicatated is all about the planners you have the same ones every day. piss them off your dead'

 

Talked with swift today and they want to put me on the target dedicated out of Lake City, FL running 3 man team.. But they want me to go to the owner op division. They make it sound like im gonna be working for an owner op who pays me instead of the company. Only .15 a mile. 6000 mile avg a week 12 days on 2 days off. Then I gotta pay this owner op 7 dollars a day. Dont know if this is a really good idea. I may just go OTR as much as I like being home this just seems a little weird to me.

 

any of you guys deliver or haul out of the fort pierce,fl dc?

 

Dang guy, if this is true, run Forrest run. They are playing off the economy and getting free labor. This sounds worse than some of the CR England post I have seen.
