I picked up in Plattevile,Co 2 wks ago and started to take 470 to 70. I couldn't get any info on the radio about it so I decided to back track to 25 and take 270 to 70. I am glad I did.

It is a private road, not part of the STAA, so they can charge whatever they want. You don't have to take that road, you just decided to because it took you around Denver, which is exactly why THEY paid to have the road built and charge you a convience fee. Just how it works, so at least next time you know not to go that way. Lesson learned

All the truckers around Denver stay off 470. Did you notice there were no other trucks taking that ramp to get on 470? Take 271 to 25 next time.

If nobody responds to you on the CB, have it peaked and tuned, get your standing wave ratio adjusted down between 1 and 2:1, use a Turner RK56 mic tuned to the radio, and turn the mic gain up to about 90%. Too many newer drivers never bother to learn how to communicate on the CB, or bother to learn how it works. This is part of the job.

they are taught the CB is bad, the Qualcomm is good, and so they tune out of the road and tune into itunes or cell phones or whatever other distraction that keeps them awake

You started from I-70 and went north to I-25? Should have been 25.80 miles and cost you $37.80.

    Here's their link: https://www.expresstoll.com/CalculatingTolls/Pages/Calculating-Tolls.aspx

Would have been $30.00 if you were signed up on "ExpressToll" :biggrin_2557:
