So the other day I did my first good deed as a truck driver. I work for a moving company under the Campbell/United chain. I was parked in a fuel stop and a steel hauling flatbed truck pulled up beside me. He had steel wheels on his trailer that were painted white and I noticed one was not so white on the passenger side. It was covered in slung oil that looked fresh. Under closer inspection I noticed he was missing the oil cap for the hub. I got out and walked around to his cab he rolled the window down and I told him what was up and showed him the problem wheel. He then shook my hand and thanked me because we had both recently seen an MTO (same as DOT) officer driving around and told me people just don't do the kind of things anymore and us drivers need to start sticking together if we're going to make it in this economy.
I know driving crappy day cabs, trailers and straight trucks isn't much of a trucking job as I spend most of my day moving household goods but it was the first time I've actually felt like a real driver.

You sir are a true professional regardless of what you drive. It is sad that most driver's don't stick together anymore & don't give a #### about helping another driver.
I myself look for opportunities to help other driver's. I have pulledd over numerous times to assist with some water, oil, I even gave a driver some food out of my cooler so he can make a sandwich. Just yesterday I gave another driver an extra oil fill plug that I had. He was telling me that it was something that he needed to get replaced soon. We had the same engine & I happened to have a extra one. So I pulled his hood open & slapped it on. He offered to pay, but I refused. Just told him to remember it. 6 months down the road I may need help & he just may be in the area. -
Good job man, glad to hear some good news!

x2, I'd be happy to share the highway with you any time.

Hey buddy, don't apologize for what you're doing for a living.
I promise you work way harder than most of us do. I tried HHG for a brief period myself.
That's real work and I know I couldn't do it now if I tried.
