There's a lot to be said about having your own crapper in the morning. That alone would be worth the cost:p

Unless you family it doesn't feel right sharing.

Right now it's entirely idle curiosity. But when I get my next truck, it will be something I look at more seriously.

The concern for general freight would be weight......no? I'm always looking for ways to loose weight not gain it.

My rig with a 53' combo flat will still scale 44k. However the stretch trailers are 7k lbs heavier - so 36,500 lbs is my max for multiple piece freight.

With my new aluminum 48 flat, I can scale 47k. That's everything full and ready to roll.
However, as things change, it's hard to compete with some of these guys who can scale 50k+. This is general freight terms.

I’m not sold 100% on the weight thing

Seems the runs I make the most on are 20k or less and just 1-2 items

In the past 12 years I think I’ve hit 80k only a handful of times

The ones I seem to lose on or waste more time with are heavy and cheap
Cheap ones especially seem to be an all day favor

What is the difference in weight between the 72” sleeper and the 86” studio and your setup?

Honestly I don't know the differences in the weight, weight has never been a factor to me in my operation. When and if I do a load off of the boards I prefer to pick the lightest ones available that pay the most.
