Differential/Lube general question

    Thank you all for the input. The lock differential button always confused me, I thought I engage the front diff when I press the button.

    no it just locks front and rear together.

    Nope, you're just locking the interaxle together. The interaxle is essentially a diff between the diffs and it behaves the same way.

    Oh blah de blah.

    I use the largest cheapest buckets of sewing machine oil , blended with sawdust and valve grinding paste in engine, trans, power steering etc.

    Also useful for toothpaste to remove pesky coffee stains. Never had a problem.

    I should mention I have no use for pesky shop manuals, data sheets or manufacturers recommendations, and trade my equipment out every 150 miles.

    I've always used KY jelly.

    No wonder they look at me funny when I buy it in 5 gallon pails.
