It would be extremely foolhardy to just move to an area and cross your fingers and hope that you get hired on, even if you have the necessary experience. Are oilfield companies usually willing to hire someone who lives far away but is willing to relocate? For anyone who has relocated to get into the oilfield (or fuel-hauling), what was your experience like?
Do companies typically hire drivers that need to relocate to their area?

Yes, definitely. I see ads all the time for companies looking for drivers willing to relocate to ND or the Permian.

Texas also has some less cold weather, granted its been a mild summer year which normally suggest a more extreme cold weather in winter months

I commented on your other post, look at valley bulk in Washington PA, I worked there for a bit, great owner great equipment, I just wasn’t in a good head space to work there when I moved up from Florida, so I found a tri axle job, I would go back to work for them in a heartbeat though. I say this though because when I was there I worked with a guy from NC, he’d come up for about a month and work then take a week and go back, I can’t say that situation still exists, but when I knew I was moving up I spoke to them and I had a job when I got there. Good luck.
Zonno Thanks this.
