Don't work for companies that have driver-facing cameras.
If I was that guy I would quit.Road Killer, Highway_Executive and thejackal Thank this. -
If this is Dread Pirate Trucker lol this guy was caught on the driver facing cam peeing out his driver door. The only thing the DM was worried about was whether or not some pee got on the steps of the truck.Road Killer and Lepton1 Thank this.

I left Swift in 2015, months before they were going to start implementing the cameras. My understanding is the cameras only save critical events, like hard braking, taking turns too fast, or collisions.
Now if that is true, what could possibly set off the G force sensor to capture the driver taking a whiz out his driver's door? Was he so well endowed that shaking off the last drops set off the sensor? If so, he needs to find a company that only hires super truckers.
If that isn't true, then Swift is starting to creep into invasion of privacy.Road Killer and Toomanybikes Thank this. -
My understanding from watching his video was that he had pulled up and already checked into the guard shack at a customer, came back to his truck and sat in the driver seat and started looking at his phone.
Some minutes later was asked to go ahead and dock or move elsewhere on the property or something. Fired up the truck with phone still in hands and did not put on his seatbelt to move the little short distance he needed, certainly nothing that would warrant a critical event which means Swift is always watching.Road Killer, Driver91, Toomanybikes and 1 other person Thank this. -
...unless not having the seat belt fastened triggers the camera. In that case it saves X seconds prior and after the event.
For me, I almost always fasten my seat belt before putting it in gear. Many of my customers are strict about safety regulations, so it's just become a habit.Road Killer Thanks this. -
Yep. So did I. Left in August 2015. My only regret is that I didn't leave sooner.
Evidently the definition of a "critical event" is a bit broader than Swift originally let on. In DPT's case it triggered when he moved the truck without his seat belt on. The truck's ECM knows when you do this (hence the idiot light), and that could certainly be read and used as a trigger. I have no idea what triggered the camera when he was peeing out of the door. Kinda funny though.Road Killer and Lepton1 Thank this. -
My vote's on swinging mass triggering high G forces.RedRover Thanks this.

It could be that he opened the door before setting the brakes which would trigger the camera to save the 15-20 seconds of video for further technical and scientific analysis.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
All in all, if someone is such a complete idiot they have to urinate on a customer's property, they deserve to be recorded. Customers have been lost over idiocy like this.
Switcher Thanks this.
