Do I need to adjust my mirrors or just not believe them?

It's nice driving a day cab with a back window so I don't depend on my mirrors alot, mainly for driving.
Gizmo_Man Thanks this. -
The whole thing is called 'perspective'.
It's the same effect as looking down a long straight road, and the outside edges of the road converge to a point in the distance.
In your mirror the lines should appear to be closer to the trailer tires and further away from the drive tires.
Match them in all mirrors and you should be pretty straight. -
Yeah. It's so much fun to be running pups, 40' 45' 48' and 53' all during the same shift. Then bouncing from a day cab to a road tractor with sleeper, then back into a straight truck. But it does keep life interesting.
Oh yeah, those roll up doors are so freaking wonderful! Particularly when they are off their tracks, (most of the time,) they have loaded with snow, or something weird has dumped over and fallen against the top preventing them from rolling up. Then you have the handles that jam up and when you use a bit of force on them, (ie; fork lift,) they just break off, but still have the retainer hooked. . . -
you do not need mirrors expecially if your truck tops out @ 62-63 mph.knock the mirrors off and run the middle lane in a 70 mph zone and be unconcerned with the traffic building behind you.heck, you won't be able to see them for that lack of mirrors.it must be a fine, fine feeling as 85% of the drivers that drive slow trucks do it and they have mirrors.
seriously though.I was serious. anyway, your trailer could be out of alignment causing you to be off hitting the docks.if the dock plate can be pulled and dropped and you are not so out of line that you are preventing the dock next to you from being used, don't worry about it.i mean how long have you been driving?you get better over time and your main concern is to NOT disturb the flow of traffic by keeping right in your slow arse truck. -
I got the same problem. I just get out and look, and judge it from there. Not really a perfectionist, but I want to make it as easy and safe for the dockworkers as possible that have to unload the trailer.
