I watched this last night and again this morning, which sparked a discussion about the driver's responsibility vs. the company's responsibility.
Chris (I think that's his name) posted this moronic video on his channel about a driver driving miles with a bad tire and she blames the company for forcing her to drive with a bad tire.
Here is the video -
Listen to her excuses, I would have FIRED her just for driving it. She doesn't need to be on the road, acting like a slave to the carrier.
Just to remind you, new drivers, you are NOT slaves, and more so you are totally responsible for the safety related to that truck when you get behind the wheel. If you have a bad tire, you tell the company, insist on it being repaired, or don't drive it.
DO NOT BE LIKE THIS DRIVER WHO WENT THROUGH ARIZONA TO CALIFORNIA TO ARIZONA AND NEW MEXICO AND ENDED UP IN OKLAHOMA UNDER LOAD.
Do NOT DO THIS -

No joke! Here in Ohio...around Route 254 in Sheffield.....I followed a black skid mark from a locked up wheel for 10 miles the other day.
It kept going but I had to turn off.tscottme Thanks this. -

I saw the video also and thought it was BS.
She was the only one in control of that truck, and it was her responsibility to tell them I’m not moving until I get a new tire. -
I had a pretty good argument with a pencil pusher a few years back. Had no stop, turn and tail lights on the back corner of my truck. They needed me at the job ASAP and I said it ain't leaving the yard until I fixed it. It was 4 hours until daylight, even then, no turn signal is a pretty big deal. Ended up rewiring all the lights on that side before leaving.

Think a lot of these videos, and likewise posts here, are made because one is trying to cover their own ### after a f up

One thing to remember..if a company is too cheap to want to pay for repairs that are needed on the road, they’re not worth driving for whatsoever

That's what I preferred about LOCAL:
Problems solved BEFORE leaving Yard(s) especially with Companies that had fully functioning SHOPS!!
When I was OTR, maybe 2016 or '17, I had some fun ONCE when I discovered a leaking Right Front Drive Seal, and I was in Alabama, X 17, W.B. I-20, L & B Trashy Truck stop, morning P. T. I.
Told to "keep an eye on the leak" and it wasn't leaking a lot.
Drove to Coppell, TX. on Saturday, got unloaded, reloaded on Sunday.
Headed up I-30 to Rockwall to the T.A. (I believe thru the lovely construction bungling--If it was still in process).
Spent 1 day at a motel & two days at a Hotel.
It was a scam job at t.a., with an OUTSIDE vendor claiming "You need a New Spindle because measurements are not good".
CHEERS!!tscottme Thanks this. -
Well, in “her” defense, by definition, she doesn’t have the balls to tell the boss she ain’t driving it.
Oxbow, okiedokie, Short Fuse EOD and 2 others Thank this.
