So the knight drivers that I know who work out of the Seattle term who have been there 4 to 12 years are just saps happy to be getting 500 a week? LOL I doubt that these guys would stay there for years and be happy with 500 a week so why even make yourself look foolish saying something like that. A company that size will have winners and loser, lucky and unlucky.
We all know you hate Knight, thats why your posts just seem to get more and more ridiculous with time. And then to top it off, anyone who does not share your warped sense of reality is evil. Dude get a grip before the meter runs out on any sanity you have left.
Do not work for knight transportation!!!

I drove OTR back in 2000 for three years, then got out of trucking to be home and finish raising my children. I am coming back out in May after I finish a refresher course at a state accredited facility.
Bubba has got it right. When i drove before, I always took whatever they offered me and did not complain at all. My dispatchers treated me very well and knew they could count on me to get it done and get it done safely. If you build a dependable repor with your dispatcher, then you get treated fairly.
I did not have internet, reliable cell phone, or any amenities, such as a television or a cd player. Coming back out, I am happy to have better access to modern conveniences to help me on my routes. One of the biggest issues I had before was not being able to shower every day; but this time, I am thinking ahead of all the things I can do to make the experience better for me--such as bringing along a small wash tub where I can give myself a sponge bath by warming water up in my microwave. Then, I do not have to get annoyed if I cannot stop to take a real shower.
You know, we have to be adaptive survivors out here and use our own heads to solve problems and make life on the road more the way we would like it to be. Solutions, not problems, man...rogercausey, mitrucker and tracyq144 Thank this. -
I read through these posts, and I find that most of you have absolutely no clue about this company. I am back for my 3rd time, and just completed 2 years here at Knight(all together I have been here almost 6 years). I get paid for everything that I do and I have made the low rate of .355 a mile, and I have also made as much as $1.25 a mile as a company driver. If I want to get home, they get me home, if I want to take a few days off, they have no problems. I dont get shorted on my payroll. When we call in we are not a number, we are a name-in fact we dont even have employee numbers here. My driver manager knows me by name and by site, I have his personal cell number and can dial his desk directly without going through a switchbooard and hope I get the correct person. Why am I back for my 3rd time, you say? Well, because I like running 2800+ a week, and the last company(which I wont mention but it is based in Lincoln, NE and has blue and red trucks) could barely run me 1800 and I had to beg to get that. We are not forced dispatch at Knight, which means I dont have to do a load that I dont want to for any reason and they never have a problem with that. No Im not a recruiter, Im a driver--so dont even start that "hes a recruiter" crap. Most of the drivers here commenting are newbies who have the wrong attitude about this whole industry so I dismiss their crap like it is old . When you find out how this industry works, you can get back to me--the secret is You tell the company what you want them to do for you and once you figure that out, your days of trucking will be a lot better. Every company has their crap and the stupidity, but Im here to work not complain. If you all want to complain about everything and talk crap you know nothing about and just want to be lazy s.o.b.'s I here that there is a company near you that is hiring, you may want to learn these words before you go apply--"Thank You for shopping at WalMart, may I help You?"
tracyq144 Thanks this. -
Well Timtruck, I for one am impressed. Let's see in this thread:http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...-j-b-hunt-why-your-company-5.html#post1189186 in post # 44 you are talking about how the person who started the thread blah blah blah. That was two years ago, and was your last post until this one. And it is also Blah Blah Blah.
Go troll somewhere else. All of us who have worked for Knight KNOW WHAT THEY ARE.drvrtech77 and Dna Mach Thank this. -
HA Ha yea you guys go see how great Knight is. Seriously...go see for yourself, then get back to us.
Has anyone else noticed..the only people who defend Knight are complete DKHEADS? LoL Knight...what a bunch of idiots. -
Thanks for the post by TimTruck. Long haul truckload work is available because it sucks being away from home while living in a noisy, smelly, dangerous box smaller than my bathroom. I have no idea if Knight is any good or not, but I appreciate the possible realism and counter balance of your comment. I for one must read all this against the backdrop of needing a job after having been out of driving for 4 years and full time work for 2. I have a class A-TX license with lots of experience but my home area has no work of anykind. Some work is sometimes better than no work.

Last time I sat for more than 6 hours (and like I said, I almost always have a pre-plan) was in January 2008. I sat for about 30 hours or so, but everybody was sitting that day. At least in Fort Worth.
I just do my job, get the load there, on time. Nothing more than that, except treat my DM, other DM's, and shop personnel like human beings, and they return the favor.
99% of these "bad company" complaints are caused by unrealistic expectations and people who are not suited to be truck drivers.
Most of the complainers would have never made it back in the 80's, when I started. Except for the government and elogs, and traffic, today is a piece of cake. Ah, whatever, nobody wants to work these days. "Work", you all know what that is? That's why they call it a "job", that's why they PAY you to do it. If it was supposed to be fun, everybody would want to do it!
In fact, there is the problem. Too many "trucker" movies that portray trucking as "fun". -
That was an old quote. Knights really about the only people in my life that flat out ripped me off and stole money in the form of non-payment for work performed. That was my own terminal, heaven forbid I should end up emptying out near another terminal. They had no freight, I like to run 2500-3000 miles in 5 days and go home. I've actually been doing that for the last three years with the company I left Knight for. It can be done and anyone that says it can't is misinformed. The first year I was at Knight that's about we did but it was closer than 2000-2500 miles..fair enough. Knight literally changed overnight.
Most of the people that inquire about Knight here on TR always make it clear that Knight is a last resort and their one of the few that will consider them due to their situation. That speaks volumes there. -
American-Trucker Thanks this.
