I’ve often thought one could set up a drone to “follow me” and use it just for that purpose... just a simple over head shot that one could then access from an iPad screen in the cab.

I bet there’s a way, or a way could be developed, to “tag” the truck with a tracker and just auto program the drone to fly to a certain height and shoot the tagged truck ... send it out the drivers window, and return to said same window...

    GOAL ... high tech version

@catalinaflyer was an early adopter, but IIRC, his carrier had some concerns.

They probably shouldn't be flying the drone over someone else's private property then. I'm pretty sure that most juries out in the country would agree.

FAA controls the space above everything on the ground.

That guy got lucky at avoiding prosecution, likely due to the novelty of drones and that enforcement has not become regularized yet.

This is going to change very quickly especially with commercial applications for drones growing. Big corporations like Amazon aren’t going to tolerate having their drones shot down. They will use their influence to make sure those who do go to prison.

Airplanes and helicopters fly over private property. Can you shoot one down?
