im starting to get bored with throwing beverage cases all day. I like the miller distributor I work for, and it has amazing benefit; but I'm thinking of a change of pace in about a year.
How's fuel delivery? How's the pay; the labor, etc...
I've been looking at companies like Kenan advantage group and Florida rock and tank lines.
But when I here people talk about the pay it's not even $200 more then I currently make without the stress of hauling a napalm bomb.
I make anywhere between 1400-2000 biweekly. Usually around 1550 on average. Take home
Does fuel delivery pay decent?

I was looking at regional and OTR, but the pay always looks like arse on paper. Plus a lot of people don't consider my Florida city to city driving as "experience".
-
Many companies will hire you with that city driving. They simply put you through some type of in house refresher course and then assign a truck when that's complete.
Southeastern Freight Lines probably ok in your area.Last edited: Jul 30, 2017

Yes,it pays well.If you're willing to accept the danger.Must pay Attention to what you're Doing. No,loading wrong tanks etc.A good bit of hooking up hoses, turning knobs, valves etc. This stuff is not Light.Probably not any worse than slinging cases of beer all day. That 200 more is 10k a year more.

Gemini is Love's fuel hauling arm of their business. A lot of people who do that work say they're the best around and they top out at $260 per day. Home every night.
Stay with the beer distributor. Stay off the interstate and near the ones you love. The grass always seems greener but it isn't. If you already have steady work with good pay and benefits, keep them. There's no reason to go digging more holes in the yard.homeskillet Thanks this. -
Try Indian River Transport in Tampa.

im gonna check Indian river out.
what was the next step you guys took after your first year or two? -
Fuel hauling is a good area to work in as long as it's with a company that pays. But just as OTR it's better to work for the private carriers. The third party carries don't pay as well as Loves.
Companies like Fuel south and Gemini have minimum pay guarantee for the week. And some Gemini drivers make 80k plus. In certain areas.
Don't give up on searching for local if that's what you want. Every company doesn't only look at OTR as the only experience out there. I got on with Roadway after 8 months OTR.Sandman 660 Thanks this.
