That would be the best thing they could do for you.

I don't know if they still do but I'm pretty sure they used to have awesome quarterly prizes for best fuel mileage. Big money prizes

Call and ask when you can start. If they say 9 mos. OTR experience first, then get the 9 mos. somewhere then switch to Messila Valley if that's what you want.
You're new to trucking, so try different things until you find a niche you like.

Mesilla Valley people told my husband one thing over the phone and then wanted him to sign a "contract" after stating he looked good for employment. Wanted him to sign a conditional contract of .40 per mile for 3.5 years with no increase, $50 orientation a day for 2 days. States he has to agree go home for 2 days after 6000 miles of driving. If he needs to be home more than 2 days, the truck has to stay in Nashville, TN.
How does he know he would be guaranteed 3000 miles per week to receive that one day off? He would not be guaranteed that. So it may take 3 weeks or longer to get home just for 2 days.

Also, if for some reason something comes up while you are at orientation, you are on your own to get home. They use DAC, PSP and MVR to check your employment history.

Just wanted to give a heads up for those asking.
