Look at Craigslist " Transport" Want Ads across the Midwest and in every urban and suburban location you will find Menards advertising for Delivery Driver, both flatbed and box van. As posted here by others, do not fall for their UNLIMITED EARNINGS POTENTIAL mantra. You will work 7 days a week in all kind of conditions. You will have umpteen hours of wasted time waiting on Menards staff to get what you need to get rolling each morning. they know what they are doing, pushing off delivery losses and liability on the small-town O/O. You will be off when you would rather be working, and working when your friends are fishin', huntin' and riding their m/c on the weekends. You will be called in to make 1 $45 delivery; not worth even firing up the truck.
Reason you are required to buy the Masterlift 5000 contraption is because it's Larry Menards invention. It's a POS. Bad tool for the job and dangerous operating on city and rural roads. stay away. do not listen to silly young store managers, they are clueless but desparate especially this time of year. I bet Menard's turns over 40% of drivers each year, horrible.
No benefits, not even store discount. Endless aggrevation. Customers are idiots. Heed this warning and do your research, from Baraboo to Cedar Rapids to Valpariso you'll find x-drivers with horror stories aplenty. Much better ways to make $12-14 an hour.bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
I just ended my contract with Menrds Rhinelander Wi. The new manager is Troy M. and he is not trustworthy. Many back-charges that he will not notify you about. When you get your check with the deduction you need to go threw a hassle figuring what and why it was deducted- if they decide they are not going to pay they just smile and say check your contract and you will see that you need to go to the National Arbitration Board. My first contact with this sob was to try to make me take load that would have put me at 2 in the morning after starting the day six in the morning the day before. The whole problem was a delivery coordinators mistake as my last load of the day at 7pm was actually three loads. I was taken for about five thousand dollars in the end.Last edited by a moderator: Dec 4, 2015

Menard's are crooks, all the way around

I delivered store shelving with a previous company to Menards when they would do a remodal. Never cared much for the employees at those places. Typical Wal Mart'ish losers with attitudes.
The CEO of the company was fined for bringing hazardous waste to HIS HOME and disposing of it though his cities municipal trash service. What a flippin idiot! -
Yeah, he's worth 9.2 BILLION. But he's the idiot. Started the buisness in college, all by himself. I've lived/ grown up around him and his family, I've always been able to get home and have plenty to do because of him.

Money doesn't make you a good person. Grab your Kleenex......

Now run along, you're annoying me. -
I never said he was a good person, or bad. But it takes some brain power to make it to $9.2 billion. Unlike most posters on here...

If that's how he treats employees, and vendors, no wonder he's worth billions. Made his money on the backs of others.

I talked with an O/O with menards and he was complaining because he made $500 on a short load.
I took a brokered load out of Eu Claire and it was silly money for 350 miles. Especially since I had to school their loader. Wasted an hour + of my time because the kid did not know WTF he was doing.
