Agree. This job isn't like ur desk job u had before. An error at a desk is a simple fix. An error even a small one out here can kill or injury you or someone.

But yes there's people here that fail at the beginning and fix their way of thought and now driving accident free ever since. To you guys congrats, but seeing student and student coming in like a flood, I have my doubts if most can fix their way. They are use to 4wheelers and switching lanes with only looking once in the mirror but in a truck u need multi looks. They think because they are turning right onto a road, they don't need to worry about traffic going left, then realize mid turn they needed both lanes to make the turn.

I'm not bashing on u op, it's just what it is and what I see. I had student who repeatly fail at looking at the mirrors. Pass their test with an osr, and 6 months later called in for an accident.

    Practice practice practice
    Watch videos of trucking
    Play truck simulator
    Read books
    Read blogs like dfo
And mentally you might change your habit by seeing how professionals do it and seeing their habits

Man people act like accident don't happen everyday you can be driving for 40 years and wake up one day and have an accident. I know what I want to do and this is the career for me.. At the time I wasn't ready and now I feel like I am with some more training... I put my heart into it the short time I was out there and now I'm sitting on a big ### debt from trucking school.. Maybe you guys are right maybe I should give up my cdl it's not benefiting me anyways!!!

What were the preventables? When you studied for your permit you read to adjust your speed, not to follow closely, stopping distances, the dangers when backing, to get out and look etc. Between that and your time on the road you should have applied that. I fail to see how this is your trainers fault regardless of how much training ( or lack of) you received from them. With that said Carolina Cargo seems to be the safe haven for a trashed driving record.

some guys here may have been driving for 40 years, and yeah, never had an accident, and that's the truth of the matter.

you fail to see that you had so many, in so short a time.

even if someone "gambled" on you now, you'll most likely need to go back to school all over again, as you have been out for so long.

you are not cut out for this, move on to something else, pay off your loan to the school.

ok...i haven't been driving long. Yesterday I had a tight turn RHS where I came as close to the stop sign as possible without hitting it and then the pole on my right was in my blind spot. I creeped and got out and looked several times. I had traffic backed up in both directions but didn't care. I don't think I could have made it so I took the out I left myself.
