Unless they're standing in the road not moving. When that happens I find the sound of the jake gets them to head for the safety of the trees/bush.

New York State Thruway have had two trucks in the last ten years loose windshields to flying turkeys.

Last one ended up on our SMS as a recordable accident which I Data Q'ed and the NY state police agreed that flying turkey suicide by truck is not a recordable accident...

As far as Deer, hit 'em square, you should see the mess a tanker ladder makes of one tossed up by the tractor drives. the newer safety ladders are stronger and don't bend too easy.

They should allow exerienced hunters to kill more deer, they get slaughtered more than any other of them on the road anyways. Many unemployed sincere families could use meat on their tables/freezers

I think I was ~10 years old. Driving my YZ80 through the sugar bush. I was riding the high ground between the wheel ruts. Swerved for a squirrel and got into one the those wheel ruts. Hit a tree, bent my front rim and forks. That was the last time I cut my wheel for anything.

Several years ago, a fuel truck heading up to the mines outside of Challis, Idaho came around a curve on the forest service road........ and a herd of elk were bedded down. He got 9.

I've found that the predominant class of people moving further away from the cities often has little interest in hunting.

Stupid deer. Cause a lot of damage, no doubt. I wouldn't have my own truck again without a deer guard. I asked a guy once with one, "so, driver, how's that guard work"? He said, he didn't know, yet, but was kind of looking forward to hitting one. My biggest concern on my motorcycle. Turkey's too, like wis bang sez. I hit a turkey with my car, shattered the windshield.( windshield dude said it was the 3rd turkey in 2 weeks) Then there's this,,,( I knew the person that took this picture originally in the UP of Michigan. Driver said, the truck was brand new, and he was laughing about it)
