Must not have been as great a company as he thought. No further posts in quite a while.
TruckerOllie Thanks this. -
cluth i now drive for carter express out of anderson in. my happy with my hometime. every week we get to chose what runs we want for the following week im home every weekend and a few times during the week. we stay around the mi in oh ky tn va, and we have routes out to tx. now for the product we haul 90 percent auto parts so as you can now guess its slow. but we have picked up more contracts and will be getting busier in april.

How do I get in there...can you refer me?

They actually sent me a postcard saying they we're declining on me at the time. I have a ticket from last year, with these times we're in I would say that's reasonable. Nice gesture on their part to even say anything.

Since I applied with them I noticed those "team" players aren't the most friendly people on the road. In other words there all ticked about something......next !

Yeah, i would have to agree---i'm a former foodservician. It's not all fun and games/rolling hills and storybook sunsets. If, however, you get a decent route and get into a groove, then you may have something.TruckerOllie Thanks this. -
Well let me say I will take up this thread since the original author seems to have disappeared and I do drive for DOT foods. They are a very good company to work for in fact. I will address some of the comments made here by others as well. This is by far the best company i have ever worked for in the 10 years i have been driving a truck and i have worked for several. They pay me well, treat me well, i have great benefits, and i am home 1 day during the week and 2 days every weekend. yeah I know you think it sounds to good to be true, well so did i when i first was told all this by the transportation mgr when i did my first interview. So I talked to a bunch of the drivers whenever i could to find out from the drivers themselves and sure enough they confirmed, so i said ok maybe a good deal after all. Well I went through 3 more interviews before finally being offered a job. I have been there over a year now and i am very glad to be here and in the position i'm in. Now i'll address some of the comments below.
Am i saying this is the greatest job in the world? No but it is the best one i've had in this industry. Is it for everybody? No.TexomaOKie, Drive-a-Mack, Kwaione and 1 other person Thank this. -
General Electric (GE) was advertising for laborers and machinist at their locomotive engine plant. I think the lowest grunt laborer makes $60K a year with a benefits package that will make your head spin.
The statement that advertising = bad employer, is a gross generalization.
