when in ecm ash accumulator value riches to 100% the check engine comes on and its time to clean it. some Volvo's inst clusters are programmed to show ash level. If you don't want to be stopped on road, clean the dpf at ash level at 97-98%. how to read that data from ecm ? buy and install PowerView Model PV101-C.

I didn't know they put DD15s in Kenworths, just saying. You drove a FL(or Western Star or maybe even one of the last Sterlings) for awhile, lately?

Shop said cleaning it would be almost as much as the new filter so they installed new one. Truck has 311k miles on it.

Im company driver so i just let company do whatever they wanted to do.
On a side note this engine has been going through lots of oil. Personally i think cummins should step up and pay for engine overhaul.

If the oil consumption is not fixed then it will plug the filter up again.

Yes, definitely. I told them about oil consumption issue. They just replied "oh that's nice that you keep it topped off, just keep an eye on it"
