You are too kind. If a company put a driver facing camera in my truck, I would turn my keys in at dispatch and walk right on out the door. Two week notice? Not a chance in hell.

They can sit there and say thate not the kind of driver they want all they would like, but the fact is if profits start to wheen cause they cant find or keep a driver there policys will change quite quick.

The problem is you have people going to work for companys like these simply because they dont know any better. CDL mills turn out drivers at a huge rate.

I was talking to one of the over the road drivers of the same company that I talk to that day cab driver. picking this load up in Nashville, the driver sad that his DM told him that the camera company forward a video to his company/ DM that he was distracted/ fatigue driving because he had his music up really loud

And that is further proof that Swift via their third party will selectively look in on you whenever they #### well please and we will be coached and over micromanaged ad nauseum.

With the punitive culture that exists here I suspect a LOT of drivers will be getting slapped down with threats of termination if they don't "straighten up".

I won't be one of them as I'll be long gone.

i have put in applications already with other companies. Whats funny is i got a message from my DM saying she has seen that i have put apps out as the companies have contacted swift... magically i get more miles... i am getting planed for far more in advance then i ever have before... hell i am getting payed for over 4000 miles on my next paycheck and i only had 1200 2 weeks ago with the excuse of "there is no freight moving out of the Chicago area" excuse.

Swift is already trying to make drivers who are looking to leave happy... Hell i do not care if they give me 3000+ miles a week the company i am going too is offering me a 10 cpm raise to switch.

Honeslty IMO you can tell if a company cares about their drivers by their trucks... Granted swift has nice new trucks but you get no APU no decent inverters and you get #####ed at for idling... Other companies pay 20+% more and have everything swift says you can't have from inverters to pets.

You seem to be missing THE key detail about this thread and others on the same subject here...NO ONE has issues with outside facing cams!! It's the INSIDE facing camera that many, including me, find unacceptable.

Were you cleared because it was facing you?!?

I'm not a Swift driver, but I wanted to add that I can tell you honestly that I never have my seatbelt on when I'm backing at a truckstop/shipper/receiver. It is too restrictive and I can't move to get the proper sight angles I need to safely back up.

Most of the trucks have a little fold up Komfort Latch. Just pull enough slack on the seat belt and fold the thing up and the seatbelt will not retract. If that doesn't work you can always use a little spring clamp to do the same thing. Been using one for over 20 years since my first seatbelt ticket. What's cool about it is the seatbelt is always stretched out to the right length-- when I hop in I just quickly put it over my shoulder and drop it without clicking it in til I'm up on the big road. Nice to be able to unclick the belt while driving and adjust the seat of pants or take off a sweatshirt or something.
