    And here we are ''today''.
Nowhere does that stop the industry from paying overtime,
Somebody will always buy a job and do it cheaper or even pay to work.

We know that this industry is exempt from the OT pay. That's just one of many downfalls of what we do. But you have a choice. You can choose to work for a company that pays that way or you can choose a company that pays you for all that you do. I chose the latter. I had to work today to keep my customer running. I was paid a little more than $85.00 dollars for 10 hours of work. Maybe you should endeavor to find a good company. They are out there. Here's a hint and a half for you, You're not going to find that company if they do OTR.

I like to find jobs that pay more for less work . For an example you can make 62k at shipex running 3000 miles a week , or you can work at tmc making 62k a year ruining 1800 miles a week .

You mean $850 for 10 hours I hope.
    Not $85.

I guess that would depend on what you call work.
    Shipex you slam doors
Tmc you chain and tarp in all kinds of weather so for the same money I'll slam doors.

10% is a big chunk of cash, to any customer.
And one drop of rain can turn into a downpour, if enough drops join in.

I have options at my company to avoid loads to places I really do not like.
I simply have to counter the pick up/delivery time to something else that the customer will refuse, and I am off the load.
That is done often with Amazon loads, and certain grocery customers.
The Amazon in Joliet, IL comes to mind when it is a live unload, because I can count on at least 8 hours wasted at that place..

That's a copout, stop repeating that BS you hear in the liberal media.

I bought my first house with the money I've earned as a truck driver.

Me too. I make very good money. I just see some things in this industry that need to be changed.

Share some details of the changes you would like.

Also include how those changes would effect the overall economy in the long run.
