Cricket is not only owned by AT&T, but Cricket piggy-backs off the AT&T network as well. Now you get the benefit of the AT&T network at the cost of Cricket. And it's a home run.
activate this online for a BYOD phone and port an existing number in. I even added this to an existing Cricket account. Here's how you do it:
1. After you receive the SIM, go to Cricketwireless.com
2a. If you already have an account, log in to your account and select "add a new line"
2b. If you have new service, go to Cricketwireless.com/join
3. Follow the prompts. When asked for you IMEI number, enter the number for the phone you are using the SIM for.
4. For ICCID, enter the number of **the SIM card that you just received. **
5. If you have done this right, it will add a BYOD SIM kit to your cart.
6. Go through the steps, including selecting a plan and entering your credit card info.
7. Complete the order. Even though it makes references to Shipping, it will be listed as "Free Shipping" 0.00 on the order summary.
8. When the order is complete, you will be given the prompt to Activate right away! Complete the activation.
9. Load up the SIM and then wait for the port in. If you've entered all the info, you should be good to go!

Has the new PFJ wifi been better? I have not used a truck stop wifi for over a year because of how terrible they were. It would show a good signal then I would pay and it would barely work.x1Heavy Thanks this.

I don't really like tablets, I do a lot of typing and searching and I can't type as fast. I like my phone for most things. I do have a Fire tablet, I download movies from Amazon onto it to watch when I'm out of network and I have my school books on it. Other than that it doesn't do much for me.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
When I was in college, I'd complete my assignments by talking in the phone. I hate to type. I would send messages to myself then copy them in an email. Access the email from a computer and copy& paste my answers. Very lazy way.x1Heavy Thanks this.

I resisted getting a tablet for a long time as I like a proper keyboard to type on. I used to go online using my phone as a WiFi Hotspot mwhich worked great. The thing is I noticed that I would be using more data going online with the laptop vs just surfing with the phone. I think the phone would use "mobile" versions of websites rather than load the full data hogging website that the laptop used. Because of that I used the laptop less and less but the phone screen was too small.
I got the 9.6inch 4g tablet which gives me a much bigger screen and on screen keyboard but with the lower data usage of a phone. I was able to add my phone (prepaid Verizon) to the tablet account which saves me money each month.
I could add a Bluetooth keyboard, but I mostly go online lying in my sleeper and it would be a pain trying to juggle the tablet and keyboard and type.Weeezerd, cjb logistics and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Im keeping mine. Both of them. The Stihl in particular. That 630 model was the biggest availible in my area a decade ago. freaking 700 bucks with tax. But cutting a Sycamore hardwood tree is a joy with it. The best saw.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

Divorce forced me to trade bulky stuff for smaller stuff otherwise I would have kept the Stihl.x1Heavy Thanks this.

Im planning on picking up a newer one if I can, I have a policy to carry a big Stihl in the trunk ready to go (Minus a dab of oil and gasoline... until needed) because winter is coming when second tornado season gets through with us, sometimes trees fall across roads and if winter is bad enough nature will make a 4 foot wide ditch 3 feet deep clear across a state high way, it won't be a problem to build a WW1 technology bridge in that ditch with the saw and get across with the car.

You can do everything on your smartphone. Google map/navigation is free turn by turn directions. Plug you phon into truck stereo or Bluetooth them and it play thru truck stereo. You can get CoPilot truck routing App for phone for $9.99 a month or $99 for a year. CoPilot let's you download the map to you phone so you don't use mobile data using it. It 2GB file so it pretty big for all 48 states. CoPilot is not perfect just like all truck GPS.
All the truck stops have apps. So like TA/ Petro you can reserve your shower or a paid parking spot from you phone. TA/Petro will email you when your shower is ready. So a smart phone is better then a tablet because you can take your phone with you if you want wait in truck stop or your truck. You probably already have a smartphone, so you don't have to buy anything more.
