Mine are the same, the same loads, miles, everything(they are the same loads people) but since i L/o now i find the rt they are paying and sometimes take it (the route) sometimes less hassle to take their rt....but they are off 5-10 percent the difference in paying hhg miles and routing practical miles.....you find your own way to do it....![]()

Working for Schneider I figure I got messed out of 50k+ miles over my entire career. I've ogt the figures somewhere, storage probably.
Here's the funny thing, they say that they pay zip code to zip code. Well I ran a regular run to get home for about 5 years and for some reason the miles got cut every year. It started at 534 and 5 years latter it was down to 522. I know that the two city limits didn't expand by 12 miles so I guess the continental plates must have shifted or something.Mr. Clean75 Thanks this. -

Ya 5-10% doesn't sound like much but over the long term it's a ton of money. If your a young guy that kind of hit is the difference between an early retirement and working till you 70.
If it's really zip code to zip code why does it always seem to work out that we're short miles? If that's the case it should all even out but it never does.
These days I get payed on the hub, and I get paid on the hub even if I'm way out of route. No arguments and rarely a question asked. -
Just because a carrier pays the driver based on those outdated BS miles doesnt mean that's what they use to bill the customers. I'm not saying Swift does or doesn't but I've seen firsthand other company's that did.PayCheck Thanks this. -
I doubt a carrier as big as swift takes a 10% hit on the miles of every load. That would be an insane amount of money.
If they do take that kind if hit their rate must be pretty high, high enough to be paying more then they are. -
I questioned my mile difference 1 time and was told "You're lucky to have a job"...blah blah blah....Oh,ok thanks.....lol

IL 47 north from I74 to IL24 is restricted from truck traffic.
We are routed for pay purposes around this because DOT closed the road to trucks.
For load reasons, we are paid this route at 125 miles.
The mandatory route we are required to take is over 150 miles.
So yeah, it happens. as so welcome is the saying..."that's trucking...." -
Just finished a quick load from Calgary Alberta to Spokane Washington. Paid 439 loaded miles. My GPS says 437 miles, Qualcomm says 434 miles. Odometer says 703 kilometers or 435 miles. Close enough for the girls I go with...
