perfect times, you always shut down before 1600 so always plenty of parking, well almost always. I have been to some places where truck stops were packed by noon.

After a while in trucking, I actually got to the point where I'd tell my perspective employers during interviews: "I will be more than happy to do anything you ask of me between 5am. and 10pm. (central time); at 10pm. I am going to bed---if this doesn't work for you, let me know NOW, and I will look elsewhere".
Aside from a few uncontrollable situations here and there....it worked out pretty well for me, if they decided to hire me.

With me, it is a "body clock" thing. I get tired at 10pm......and have tried and tried to adjust my body to other shifts---just don't work for me; I am a day time guy.

I have always been a night person, worked at a hotel as a night auditor during graveyard, was an executive chef typically working late nights depending on the circumstance and now I drive mostly evening.

Me too, alot of truckstops and service plazas in the east are full no matter what the time.A ta I think off 94 next to the twin cities is always packed.I won't even weigh loads or get fuel there.Ive always liked the hrs I mentioned.Im done and parked by mid afternoon then maybe bobtail to walmart watch dvds or get on my laptop.Ill be starting a local job with Hill Brothers I think the 30th.They're just waiting for verification from the employer before kb.Recruiter is real good keeping me updated.Anyway wonder what hrs ill run mostly.I prefer days but really doesn't matter. They need a local Sioux City driver and run within a 300 mile radius.

Ah good old Hill brothers out of Omaha. Hope the new gig works out for you Pattyj them 300 mile radius jobs are a decent mix and still get you home nightly or every other day which is nice. Working nights isn't too bad rally is rather pull grave yard than anything to be honest about it.

I work both basically I'm dead heading during the day and loaded at night depending on the trip miles. It works out that way fairly well usually. There are times when a wrench gets thrown in the gears but its bound to happen every now and then. There are pros and cons to both running days and nights. This truck parking thing I keep hearing about is what I'm not understanding. We just make our own spots when the lot is full lol. Long as a driver can get through I don't care if I'm creating that much of a headache they'll ask me to move or they'll hit my tuck which they in turn better get out of there before I'm dressed. When I have to make my own spot how hard is it to wake me up If you can't get through?

I love driving nights. My truck is at home with me. I leave my house no later than 5pm and usually roll back in around 5-6am depending on how things went. Love it. No traffic, less headaches, and all the coops around my running area are shut down at night. Now maybe as I grow older and sight declines a bit I may switch back but for now, no way. And it's my choice to run nights. I could switch to days tomorrow if I wanted too, some companies are easy to work with like that.

Yup, asked some drivers on my Facebook a whole slew of questions, and this came up. It was the 34 hr reset I was thinking of, which I was informed doesn't come into effect if you are team driving?

Stop being part of the problem. You and people like you disgust me.

Hours of service might make that kind of difficult.

I have had some of these people make it difficult making their own spots, heck I see people make their own spots even when half the lot is empty, dont be lazy and back into a spot like everyone else. I have had people make their own spot and block me. When you need to hurry and get going its not always fun trying to wait on someone sleeping to move if they even wake up and answer your knocking.......
