I wear ear plugs. I can still hear the engine and other noises, its just muted. You can put them in partially. There are also different ratings on the plugs. Ten or thirteen hours in an old mack is too much for me.
Lux Prometheus and d281833 Thank this. -
O just be like the rest of us.
Whhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaattttttt!!!!!!!????????!!!!!!!!!
Ambulance + trucking = one deaf me. -
Noise level was 2x as loud in old trucks. Quit a job because the truck was so loud you'd have a headache by the end of the shift.

It's why I used the smilies I did, to show humor and sarcasm. I really wasn't trying to be mean at all, the old furt has actually earned my respect recently with his latest posts.

My ears are ringing pretty good right now, after 6 hours of a bus, then an hour trip in our little car to watch our grandson's baseball game, has me ringing pretty good. :-\

That's cuz you have your hand on the wrong stick!!

But Bluetooth enables you to have BOTH hands free to drive. It can't replace the 40% brainpower needed to talk, so it's up to the user to shut up if (s)he needs to concentrate. But it does give a drive a helluva head start. -
Try driving a bus with no radio (except the cb) and 40 screaming brats. Oh, and no AC, so ALL the windows and the roof hatches are open, too.
That'll put a hit on your hearing and your morale. -
That would explain a few things...
