Does anyone on here currently drive for them? They were quite friendly at the terminal but there are not many reviews out there. Here is what I know so far:
Starting pay: .39-53 per mile based on length of haul
Mileage calculated on: HHG (House Hold Goods)
Freight: Swift (They are an owner operator for Swift)
Equipment: All Cascadia
Terminals: Phoenix, Tucson
Minimum trip: 2-3 weeks
Home Time: Only at terminals
Pets: Allowed but they have to approve them
Trip Planning: Done by Swift, but you get some choices
Assigned Equipment: Yes, but not if you take extended home time
Home Time: Up to 30 days after completing a 2-3 wk tour
Miles: 2500-3000 wk
I'm not super stoked about the pay or HHG but they do seem small enough to actually care and know your name. If you drive for them, or previously drove for them please post a comment about your experience. I'm in Tucson so it definitely makes things easier for me to go with someone local but I would be more comfortable if I had some feedback. I have 6 months experience driving for Werner and I could probably go back to driving there, but I just feel like their staff was so overworked they never knew what was going on or really cared much. Feel free to post a reply with your opinion even if you haven't worked there but I really would like some feedback on the company if possible.

Is that home time right? A month off after 2-3 weeks out?
-
Yes, they will allow you to take extended home time but you have to clean out your truck and get a different one after home time if you take more than the usual 1 day per week.
-
well, you;ll soon find out, the grass is not always greener. It will be the same job as Werner with just a different name on the door. ALL trucking co's are war zones in the dispatch. In fact, Dick Simon trucking used to refer to their operations room as the War room. A 20 thousand truck operation means a lot of bodies scrambling to keep the ship upright ! In a perfect world, you get dispatched, p/u the load deliver it etc. But it's not perfect, sadly. Driver Fred 50 mi down the highway is broken down but his load needs to get going NOW. So you can see this problem will affect other people starting with dispatch. And a driver to rescue him, which means switching loads etc. Lots of cigs are smoked in the dispatch office. And the phrase "I need a drink" is said by many at 5 pm and quitting time. Oh yeah, a month off after 3 weeks out there ? You phone will be ringing every other day asking can you come back early ? Then there's also no $$$ coming in too ! Anyway good luck
speedyk Thanks this. -
Are you local to Phoenix or Tucson? Where are you out of?
-
.39 .53 based on length of haul.
That there is a DEAL BREAKER. 100 miles for .53? 53 dollars gross. Or... 135 miles (More work... more time... more stress) for less pay at .39
I. Don't. think. so. -
I'm in Tucson currently.

I've narrowed my search down to Freymiller and Butler, both hire out of our area (I'm in Maricopa, between Phoenix and Tucson) and pay starts at 40CPM. Both claim drivers get 3000 miles a week and mostly drop and hook. Another decent option is HO Wolding

Have you considered Danny Herman Trucking? Many on here recomend them and they have a terminal down in Nogales.

Are you thinking maybe DHT instead of DSW?.
