Your assumptions are correct to me. If I got 18 tons on and don't drop the air those bags do max out. Enough to destroy the bags? In time, perhaps. I don't claim to be a mechanic. I was trained to dump the air and in my mind it makes sense. No, the office gave no valid reasons other than the recent bag failures. Which in my mind could be just normal degradation. My company ain't gonna win any awards for industry leading maintenance protocols.Sons Hero, LTL Bull and ElmerFudpucker Thank this.

7.8 Brazilian or 3208?

3208, rebuilt in 2022 by someone that actually knew what he was doing
ElmerFudpucker Thanks this. -
A company that hauls coal around my area has the suspension dump valve connected to the PTO, when it's engaged the bags dump. They say they've avoided numerous roll overs and nobody has left their bed up
TurkeyCreekJackJohnson, W923, Sons Hero and 4 others Thank this. -
Drop everything with air, most new trailers do it automatic when you pop the gate, and a lot of trucks do it when the pto is engaged
TurkeyCreekJackJohnson Thanks this.
