Before I got smart, I would see a steel container sitting on a flatbed and not secured to anything, not realizing that the container has hooks on the corners that lock it down to the trailer but are hard to see.

Thanks! Don't think I will. Quit an 8 year stint with R&L to finish off my last 15 years or so and I like it very much.

A couple yrs ago I had a friend riding with me after he got his permit so I could train him enough to go get his cdl. We were in San Antonio and I pointed to a couple empty sandboxes on a step deck and told him to check that out, the guy didn't have them strapped down at all (knowing full well they had the locks on the bottom). I got him to look up the name on the door, find a phone # and call to report the driver. He felt dumb for a minute after they told him about the locks, then looks over at me and I just start laughing.

He didn't find it as amusing as I did :D

Make sure the CB is on so you can troll them with stupid comments like "They'll be alright, I just drive careful."

They’ll be fine, but if I ever see you with a tonka toy on the back with only one strap securing it - I’m calling the US Marshals. :)
