@eagle MANGEMENT! RETENTION OF YOUR WORK FORCE (DRIVERS)THRU PROPER TRAINING AND FOCUSING OPS TO GET US HIGHER PAYING FREIGHT IS MORE PROFITABLE FOR U AND US INSTEAD OF ENCOURAGING DRIVERS TO LEAVE IF THEY ARENT HAPPY!!!!! DUHHH!
DRIVERS NEED TO DRIVE AND TRUST U ARE FINDING US HIGH PAYING FREIGHT IF U ARE GOING TO TAKE IT (25%)U NEED TO FREAKING EARN IT!!!!Bigrayon Thanks this. -
all I gotta say is "approved brokers"..
-
It's the same brokers everyone else uses all the names! But ops isn't trained or CARES to understand the economics we as lease ops face! It's great to generate 4200 in revenue as @bigrob301 said but if if its low paying crap does the driver no good if I could consistently even get close to the % of revenue that eagle gets off every driver into my pocket I wouldn't complain,if when I'm busy driving and generating said revenue I knew they knew what they were doing to help me they could keep people by making sure said driver is profitable! Get off the approved broker thing please it's not the problem at all
-
right well how come all these "approved brokers" only have cheap freight for you guys?
or maybe to get approved Eagle is getting cash under the table.. who knows.
The terrible rates posted on this thread suggests something really messed up going on there. -
All I can say to that is I agree! I like to think it's training or inexperience or ignorance also arrogance of management ......definately a problem getting the higher paying freight to the operators seems simple to fix or focus on it makes me think they don't want to fix it coz it would ease the revolving door you'd think!Bigrayon and freightwipper Thank this.

This whole industry is all about driver turnover and nobody cares.
Having cheap drivers is all these companies care about.Pork Chop Express and stormy379 Thank this. -
Freightmonkey I thought I read on one of your other posts that you don't have a whole lot of time to be looking and booking loads for yourself, but my opinion, if you want decent rates, it is the only way to fly. In my experience at my company when I could still look and book on my own, (they changed the contract Jan1st) I could get great rates from the load boards.
Nowadays I have to call a company agent-- I guess akin to your driver operation managers over there- to look and book for me. This guy being the middleman is way too easy for them to peel off a whole bunch of fat from the load and tell you (or me) that it only pays $1.4x and we only get our contract percentage off that number.
My opinion, you guys are going to have to cut the leash and start looking and booking your own loads and cut the middleman out.BigGee, Pork Chop Express, RERM and 3 others Thank this. -
Yeah but here's the deal they get there cut at 25% and it would be to there advantage to find higher paying freight....im allready finding it and sending it with my minimum and some times U get that sometimes not regardless of who calls.....those ops mgrs don't have any incentive except to get as high of a rate as possible.....but it's getting them to do it! If there lazy or taking the easy stuff from brokers coz it sounds high dollar a 2500 load which is crap if lol,the miles aren't half that! So it goes to my point....management,train them....good god...and that's why at 25% I want full service....at 10-15%.... It's been mention several times why are they even there?? Cut them out completly and just have them do rate cons and dispatch....it's our cut that generates most of there revenue,4000 dollars generated for truck each week they get 1000 each week...but see even at your place agent calls and u get a bigger piece of the pie there bot getting the same results crap rates...I read road runner threads...seems everywhere.i just look my loads and give them my minimum lol and email or text them....that's 1000 off the his truck a week....and I'd like to see the same ....I know I'm an idealist lo.

I got two buddies over here and they both "hate it." Their words, not mine. I don't have a lot to add, but both of these guys swear the only loads that lay are out of Indiana and they are forklift loads. With that said, both have beautiful trucks, w900 and a lonestar/ they manage to make the payments and get home weekends with a good chunk of change left over for the house.
Probably won't be leaving prime any time soon for eagle
fr8monkey Thanks this.
