ELD LIVE TRACKING/HIGHWAY??? Brokers locked me out.

It also has been discussed on Overdrive Online. Haven’t heard anything from OOIDA or NASTC recently.

A lot of grain brokers are even using highway now.

 

You usually don't. They state they investigate every report tho. I'm still hopeful others will file more complaints. What they're doing is wrong! As Landstar cut me out because I won't onboard with highway. I've hauled for Landstar for years, always on time, never an issue. Sucks all these brokers are switching to Highway with no loyalty to their carriers. Says a lot for them. I guess everyone else is capitulating to Highway's insane demands???

 

Is it what is it these days. Highway runs the cut regarding Onboarding with Brokers. As much as the Carrier does workwise, they control the narrative (in otherwords the gatekeeper's on to the next gatekeeper).

 

Only because carriers capitulate. I'm not giving a broker my administrator login ID and password to my personal ELD account! Copies of my drivers license, registrations, titles, loan paperwork, none of that. I've been driving for 34 years, never a freight claim. This level of intrusion is unprecedented. Truly extortion for your personal data. It's only happening because carriers are bending over and slapping their own ###s. No wonder why they take advantage of truckers, when things get bad, some stand up, other drivers will say it is wat it is... just bend over it only hurts for the first couple minutes. Highway is a 2020 startup, how are "we" letting them "control the narrative?" If carriers were to un-board with Highway they'd stop, or the brokers would abandon them! We'd set the narrative.

I agree with you 100%. However, even on Here as much as I state my opinions about Brokers you will get the exact bunch ganging up trying to shut you up.! Many have a super backwards warped mindset as carriers or disgusting themselves as ones saying 'Brokers are great.. time to shutup'.. do a search on these forums and you will see. I even have some trolling on here so once you say some truth about the situation they want to shut you down once you mentioned anything slightly negative about a Broker and No one ever supports the carrier. You're right about Highway, however even if there were thousands unboarding. You will have those lurking in the background in the tens of thousands Onboarding. I will never agree with the gatekeepers but as much as I've complained nothing ever changed.

 

Can one just buy a cheap ### ELD, set it up but never use it, and give them that info? Then when they call and say we're not seeing any info just say oh well, that's not my problem. Or have they bypassed anyone on the ELD stuff?
